As a sports lover, I am excited to start this lesson,"Playing at the Gym".
This lesson is focused on how to play basketball and ping-pong.
As we know,teenagers have a great interest in sports. After I lay the two balls on the desk, there is a smile on everyone's face.
How to play basketball? First, catch the ball.Then,throw the ball at the net. I ask a column of students to catch the ball. Before I throw it, I repeatedly say"Are you ready to learn?" Because it is one of the most important structures in this lesson.The"Throw-Catch"activity goes smoothly.Suddenly, a girl asks me to catch the ball not herself. I agree. What a smart girl she is! This indicates that teachers and students should cooperate with each other in class. The students should be in the central place while the teachers should be the guiders. I draw a picture of net on the blackboard,and make an action of throwing.This leads to anther important structure"throw..at..".
How to play ping-pong? Is it necessary for me to teach them on the playground? Or is it necessary for me to draw a ping-pong table on the blackboard? No, they are both indirect. At one side of the desk, there are a few teaching books. At another side, there is my dictionary.On both sides, I put a stick on them. This is a ping-pong table. While playing with a student, I teach them another two structures" hit..with" "hit..to..".
Activity is one part of my teaching. Spelling words ,reading and speaking sentences are also within the teaching. Besides them, listening and and exercises are added.
In general, this lesson is better than any other lessons I have taught. As my experience increasing, there will be more and more excellent classes in my teaching.
